flightroute.me Terms of Use
Effective date: October 9, 2026 Last updated: October 9, 2026
1. About these Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and flightroute.me ("flightroute.me," "we," "us," or "our"). They cover your use of:
- the landing site at https://flightroute.me,
- the web app at https://app.flightroute.me, and
- the iOS app "flightroute.me" (together, the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy at https://flightroute.me/privacy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What the Service is
flightroute.me is a flight board for airline non-revenue (standby and staff) travelers. It shows commercial passenger and cargo flights between airports, connections, gates, and status, and lets you build and share trip plans.
3. Important: flight data and non-rev travel
Please read this section carefully.
- Third-party data. Flight information comes from third-party flight data providers and is cached on our servers. It may be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. Schedules, gates, aircraft, and status can change at any time. Always check with your airline before you travel.
- Not affiliated with any airline. flightroute.me is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any airline, airport, or travel provider. Airline names and flight numbers are used only to identify flights.
- Not for operational or safety use. Do not use the Service for flight operations, dispatch, navigation, crew scheduling, or any safety-related purpose.
- No guarantee of seats or boarding. The Service does not show or guarantee seat availability, and it does not guarantee that you will get a standby seat or be boarded on any flight.
- Follow your airline's rules. You are responsible for following your airline's non-revenue travel policies, eligibility rules, dress codes, listing procedures, and any other requirements. Nothing in the Service changes or overrides those policies.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service, wherever you live. By using the Service, you confirm that you are 18 or older and able to form a binding contract. The Service is not intended for anyone under 18.
5. Your account
- You sign in with an email address and password, or with Continue with Google or Continue with Apple where offered. Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password private and don't share your account. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Tell us right away at support@flightroute.me if you think your account has been used without permission.
- You can reset your password by email.
- You can delete your account at any time by emailing privacy@flightroute.me (we delete it within 30 days) or, where available, in the app. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; see Section 7. Deleting your account does cancel a website subscription, so it will not renew, and no refund is due for the rest of the current period.
6. Your content and share links
- Your content. You keep ownership of the plans, notes, favorites, profile information, and feedback you add ("Your Content"). You give us a limited license to store, process, display, and transmit Your Content as needed to run the Service for you (for example, syncing favorites between web and iOS and showing shared plans).
- Share links. You can create read-only share links for a plan. Anyone with the link can view the plan, including its flights and, where available, live status and (if you include it) the note. You are responsible for who you share links with and for what you put in shared notes. Links hosted on our server can be turned off at any time; self-contained links carry the plan inside the link and cannot be turned off (see our Privacy Policy).
- Feedback. If you send us feedback, suggestions, or bug reports, we may use them to improve the Service without any obligation to you.
- Be responsible. Don't add content that is illegal, infringing, harassing, or that includes other people's personal information without permission.
7. Subscriptions and payments
- Plans. The Service offers Free, Basic, Plus, and Pro tiers. Features and prices are shown on the pricing section of flightroute.me, in the web app, and in the iOS app (where the App Store shows the price in your local currency), and may change.
- Where to buy. Paid plans are sold in the iOS app through Apple In-App Purchase and on the website.
- App Store purchases. Apple processes the payment, and your purchase is also subject to Apple's terms (including the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions). Payment is charged to your Apple ID account.
- Website purchases. Stripe processes card payments for website purchases. We do not see or store your card number.
- Free trials. Free trials may be offered from time to time, with length and eligibility shown at signup, converting to paid unless cancelled before the trial ends.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel before the period ends. For App Store purchases, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple ID account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Canceling. Cancel App Store subscriptions in your Apple ID settings (on iPhone: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions). Cancel website subscriptions in your account settings on the website. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the paid period. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's policies (for example, at reportaproblem.apple.com); we cannot issue refunds for Apple purchases. Website subscriptions are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods, except where required by law. Canceling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Price changes. If prices change, we (or Apple) will give notice as required, and the new price applies at your next renewal.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, crawl, spider, or harvest data from the Service, or use bots, scripts, or other automated means to access it, except through features we expressly provide;
- copy, resell, redistribute, sublicense, or commercially exploit flight data or other content from the Service;
- access, call, or reverse engineer the Service's API outside of normal use of our apps, exceed rate limits, or otherwise abuse the API;
- interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service, its servers, or networks, or bypass security, rate limits, or access controls;
- create accounts by automated means, share accounts, or resell access;
- use the Service to build a competing product or dataset;
- use the Service for any illegal purpose, or to harass or harm others; or
- misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with any airline.
We may monitor usage (including sign-in records and API usage) to enforce these rules.
9. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, and the "flightroute.me" name, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial use. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. Flight data is provided by third parties and may be subject to their rights. Airline names and marks belong to their owners.
10. Third-party services
The Service uses or links to third-party services, such as Apple (App Store, In-App Purchase, Sign in with Apple, and Apple Maps), Google (sign-in), CARTO and OpenStreetMap (map tiles), Stripe, Cloudflare, Zoho Mail, IP geolocation services, and third-party flight data providers. We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
11. iOS app: Apple terms
If you download the iOS app from the Apple App Store, your use of the app is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA") available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/, together with these Terms. We do not use a custom EULA. Where these Terms and the Standard EULA conflict for the iOS app, the Standard EULA controls to the extent required by Apple. You also acknowledge that:
- these Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content;
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app;
- if the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app;
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, or consumer protection claims;
- Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending, or settling any claim that the app infringes a third party's intellectual property rights;
- you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties; and
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE AND ALL FLIGHT DATA ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.
Without limiting the above, we do not warrant that flight schedules, connections, gates, status, aircraft, or any other data are accurate, complete, or current; that you will obtain a seat or be boarded on any flight; or that the Service will be available at any particular time. You use the Service and rely on its data at your own risk.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, OR FOR ANY MISSED FLIGHTS, DENIED BOARDING, TRAVEL DELAYS, ACCOMMODATION OR TRANSPORTATION COSTS, OR OTHER TRAVEL-RELATED LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) US $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not fully apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless flightroute.me and its owner from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law, airline policy, or the rights of others.
15. Suspension and termination
- You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or terminate your access, or remove content, if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service or its API, create risk or legal exposure for us, or if we discontinue the Service. Where reasonable, we will give notice.
- If we terminate your account without cause while you have an active paid subscription, we will cancel any website subscription and refund the unused part of the current billing period on a pro-rated basis. For App Store subscriptions, we cannot issue refunds; you can cancel in your Apple ID settings and request a refund from Apple.
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 3, 6, 9, and 12–18) will survive.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
If you are a consumer in the EEA, UK, or another country with mandatory consumer protection laws, you keep the protections of those laws and may bring claims in your local courts.
17. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms with a new "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, give notice in the app and/or by email. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
18. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms, our Privacy Policy, and (for the iOS app) the Apple Standard EULA are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them in connection with a sale, merger, or transfer of the Service.
